About the New and Improved Baltimore Branch

image: NAACP Baltimore, MD Branch Organiztion Charter (1912)The Baltimore Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), is a civil rights, human services, and advocacy organization providing over 89 years of assistance to the Baltimore metropolitan area. The Baltimore Branch NAACP has established a historical record for its support of national programs to guarantee freedom and justice for all people.

Founded in 1912, the Baltimore Branch NAACP is the nation's second organized branch in the country. We are premier advocates for civil rights, equality and justice for all people. Our objectives are to ensure political, educational, social, and economic equality for all constituents in Baltimore.

The Branch was started with only 25 members; however, since that time, membership has grown to more than 4,000 . The Baltimore Branch of the NAACP is one of the largest and most successful branches in the country.

After years of hard work and dedication, the NAACP has become known as "the most feared, the most respected, the most revered, the most trusted, the most effective Civil Rights Organization in this nation." The Baltimore Branch is proud to be a prospering entity that is consciously working toward upholding the high level of prestige that has been established throughout the world.
